Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday issued orders cancelling land allocations made in the past to several organisations in capital, Amaravati and elsewhere.
The government also allotted lands to several organisations as per recommendations of the ‘group’ of ministers. It issued orders making several amendments to the land allotments for six organisations in the past. By another decision, the government allotted 32.40 acres of land to seven organisations in the capital.
A GO to these effects was issued by the principal secretary to urban development, Suresh Kumar, through GO-MS-122. The previous land allocations to GAIL and the Ambika group have been cancelled.
The orders for land allotments in the past to six organizations have been revised and the lands re-allocated. Some 32.4 acres was allotted to seven entities on a 60-year lease basis. By another decision, two acres of land were given for the BJP to set up its office in the capital.
In a separate order, the government authorised the capital region development authority to restore pensions to the landless poor to benefit 1,575 families. These families had been identified in the original 2015 household survey, but they were later excluded due to validation issues and income criteria.
As per GO-Ms-121, issued by the urban development department on Sunday, the APCRDA would restore the pensions as a special case, acknowledging the unique hardships faced by these families whose livelihoods were affected by the establishment of the capital city and related land acquisitions.
The classification of previously rejected or withheld beneficiaries includes 471 families due to six-step validation, 955 families due to local employment factors, and 149 families rejected for other reasons. The total count of reinstated beneficiaries is 1,575 families.
Principal secretary Suresh Kumar said this decision was taken following a resolution passed in the 40th meeting of the APCRDA (Resolution No 480/2024) on Nov 25, 2024. The resolution recommended restoring the pensions starting from January 2025 to all eligible landless families who had been excluded.
The CRDA commissioner has been directed to take necessary action for disbursing the pensions.
