Three jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force were killed and many others were injured after a vehicle carrying them had an accident and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Thursday, reported PTI citing officials.
As per the officials, the incident took place around 10:30 am in the Kadwa area when the personnel were returning from an operation from Basant Garh. The vehicle, belonging to the 187 battalion of the CRPF, skidded off the road.
The vehicle was carrying 23 personnel. Two of the personnel died on the spot and 16 others were injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital, and one jawan succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll to three.
