From Trevor Penning to Jammal Brown and Kevin Haverdink

The current owner of the No. 70 jersey has experienced a rough start to his career. Trevor Penning was benched after just six games in 2023 and was asked to move from left tackle to the right side in 2024, then back to the left side in 2025 — but this time at guard, not tackle. All while working with a couple of different coaching staffs. Hopefully the former first-round draft pick can turn his career around in what’s become a contract year.

Before he put it on, the most notable Saints player to use No. 70 might be Jammal Brown. Another former first-round pick (in 2005, from Oklahoma), he earned two Pro Bowl nods and a spot on the 2006 All-Pro first team before suffering a couple of injuries that cost his 2009 season. He was traded to Washington after a contract dispute, where he spent the last two years of his career.

They aren’t the only Saints players to wear No. 70, though. And here’s the full list, per Pro Football Reference:

Trevor Penning (2022-Present)

Christian Ringo (2021-2022)

Mitchell Loewen (2017-2019)
