The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the second-longest winning streak of division titles in the NFL (4) behind only the Kansas City Chiefs (9).
The offense led the way in 2024, and they could very easily do it again in 2025, and why shouldn’t they? They have promoted their coordinators to head coaching jobs in back-to-back years, and now they have promoted someone internally, Josh Grizzard, who could be next in line.
If you ask Grizzard though, the team is not going to be resting on their past success. When he spoke to the media this week, he assured everyone that this team, especially the offense, is not looking back on past achievements.
“You can see the hunger in guys to be able to push on into the playoffs and you can tell through the meeting rooms and the questions they are asking and the stuff we are getting done on the field – I would not want to compare to last year – It feels we are even a step further. . .They have been hungry. Nobody is resting on the statistical success that we had last year, because ultimately team-wise and in the playoffs is far from what we are trying to do.”
With so many players coming off career years, it is easy to project them having a setback in 2025. But when you look at it, several players have chips on their shoulders.
Mike Evans wants to break a record; he is tied with Jerry Rice for most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Chris Godwin is coming off a major injury. Jalen McMillan needs to prove that Emeka Egbuka will not take his job. Oh, and Baker Mayfield still wants to win a Lombardi Trophy.
This is a hungry Bucs offense we will be watching in 2025.
