TORONTO – American Ben Shelton is the winner of the men’s singles title at the National Bank Open.
He beat Russia’s Karen Khachanov 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the championship match at Sobeys Stadium.
It’s his first ATP Tour title of the season and third of his career.
The 22-year-old will rise to a career-high No. 6 when the updated world rankings are released Monday.
