Mateusz Gamrot was itching for a fight, so much so that he said he’d take on an unranked opponent. Now, he has exactly that.
At UFC on ESPN 68, Gamrot (24-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will battle Ludovit Klein (23-4-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) in a three-round lightweight bout. The event takes place May 31 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The UFC announced the news Thursday on social media.
Gamrot, 34, has not competed since August when he had a three-fight winning streak snapped in a split decision defeat to Dan Hooker. The three victories that preceded were against Jalin Turner, Rafael Fiziev, and Rafael dos Anjos.
Klein, 30, has quietly risen through the ranks. He’s currently 6-0-1 in his most recent seven after a 1-2 start to his promotional tenure. Wins include Ignacio Bahamondes and Thiago Moises among others.
With the addition, the UFC on ESPN 68 lineup includes:
- Erin Blanchfield vs. Maycee Barber
- Mateusz Gamrot vs. Ludovit Klein
