Draymond Green was involved in another incident on a basketball court on Thursday night. During the second quarter of Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals, Green threw an elbow near the head of Naz Reid. After review, Green was assessed a technical foul.
Thursday’s technical foul was Green’s fifth of the 2025 NBA playoffs. If Green were to receive two more technical fouls, he would receive a one-game suspension. He also has two flagrant fouls and would receive the same suspension if he were to receive two more flagrant fouls as well.
The Golden State Warriors would get blown out by the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-93, and their series is now tied 1-1. With the Warriors forging ahead without their superstar point guard, Stephen Curry, the Warriors will need concerted efforts from the likes of Green as well as Jimmy Butler if they are going to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Green, who has carried a reputation of being an instigator on the basketball court, feels the narrative against him has taken a turn in an unnecessary direction. Green feels the agenda that he’s “an angry black man” is being pushed, and he isn’t prepared to stand for it.
He made a powerful statement following Game 2 in response to this “agenda”.
Draymond Green just wanted to give one quick postgame statement: “The agenda to continue to keep making me look like an angry black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s ridiculous.” pic.twitter.com/ay7TLFhjWL

“I’m not an angry black man. I’m a very successful, educated black man with a great family, and I’m great at basketball, I’m great at what I do. The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s ridiculous,” Green said in the locker room following Game 2.
Green’s emotional response has lit the social media world on fire, as NBA fans are flooding X with comments for Green.
“@Money23Green you come off as angry and out of control. It’s not anyone’s agenda. It’s all you. Just watch the tape.” @roy_on_x said on X.

Green and the Warriors will return home to Chase Center for Game 3 on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
They will remain without Curry and will look to take a 2-1 series lead.
