A few days before five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell announces his commitment, the Georgia Bulldogs can celebrate getting another commitment. Four-star safety Jordan Smith officially committed to the Bulldogs, according to Hayes Fawcett from On3. He chose the Bulldogs over the Tennessee Volunteers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Alabama Crimson Tide.
Smith is a 2026 four-star safety who plays high school football for Houston County in Warner Robbins, Georgia. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back is the 6th ranked safety and 56th ranked prospect in the nation.
Smith had more official visits with Georgia (four) than any other school. He has an official visit scheduled for the Georgia Bulldogs on May 31. He still has official visits set up with Tennessee, Florida State, and Georgia Tech in the coming weeks. The 2025 early signing period is a little less than six months away, so a lot can still happen until then.
For now, Georgia can celebrate being one of the top recruiting classes again. The Bulldogs earned a big win with five-star quarterback Jared Curtis recommitting.
With the Curtis and Smith commitments, the Bulldogs are now the 10th best recruiting class of 2026, with one five-star (Curtis), four four-stars (Smith, Vance Spafford, Zech Fort, Lincoln Keyes), and four three-stars (Brady Marchese, Kealan Jones, Graham Houston, Seven Cloud).
