It seems everyone—from analysts, commentators, and former players to even fans—has a different opinion on who should be the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ starting QB in 2025.
The Black and Gold fanbase has been up in arms over the possibility of four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers making his way to the Steel City, and they may be happy to know that former Steelers HC Bill Cowher is against the idea as well.
According to the Super Bowl XL champion head coach, Russell Wilson is what’s best for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025:
“I personally think that Russell Wilson is your best choice. It’s gonna be a better offensive line room with [Troy Fautanu] coming back and moving [Broderick Jones] to left tackle. I’m thinking you’re looking at the best receiving corps you’re gonna have in a long time.”
Cowher is right on the money, as Wilson’s struggles to finish off the 2024 season could be largely due to an oft-injured offensive line, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers having one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL—a problem that has since been solved with the arrival of star WR DK Metcalf.
