Ravens add a versatile offensive tackle; land two edge rushers and add the draft’s best kicker in Dane Brugler’s 7-round mock draft for The Athletic
We are slightly over one week away from the NFL draft kicking off, and the Ravens have completed their top 30 visits. The organization will now huddle up in the Under Armour Performance Center and prepare the ultimate draft board, including pass rushers, defensive tackles, and interior offensive linemen.
One week after releasing ‘The Beast, ‘ a comprehensive predraft guide for every available prospect, Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his seven-round mock draft. Baltimore feasted, landing an All-American offensive tackle, a Notre Dame safety, and depth at edge rusher with their 11 picks.
1 (27). OT/G Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas
Banks started three full seasons on the left side at Texas, showing a good combination of size (6-foot-5, 315 pounds), nimble feet, and pass-protection skills. He allowed pressure on just 0.8% of his pass-block snaps in 2024, which tied for third best in the FBS among offensive tackles.
2 (59). S Xavier Watts, Notre Dame
Watts began his college career as a receiver in 2020 and moved to defense in his second season with the Irish. He had 13 interceptions over the past two seasons, more than any player in the Football Bowl Subdivision. He picked off six passes this season, running one back 100 yards to help Notre Dame seal its win against Southern California. He was voted to the Associated Press All-America first team in back-to-back seasons.
3 (91). Edge Ashton Gillotte, Louisville
Gillette is an edge rusher with the burst and bend that translates well to the next level.
4 (129). DT Rylie Mills, Notre Dame
Baltimore goes to Notre Dame players with back-to-back picks. Last season, Mills started 13 games (37 tackles, 8.5 TFLs with 7.5 sacks). Missed the team’s final three playoff games with a right knee injury.
5 (176). Edge David Walker, Central Arkansas
Walker is a highly productive FCS prospect, logging 31 sacks and 63 tackles for loss in three seasons while making numerous All-American teams. Walker was a 2024 United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-UAC, FCS All-American, and FCS Defensive Player of the Year.
6 (183). TE Jake Briningstool, Clemson
6 (203). WR Dont’e Thornton Jr., Tennessee
The most targets Thornton received during his four years of college (two at Oregon, then two at Tennessee) was 38 this past season. Mostly a deep-ball receiver who led the FBS with an average of 25.4 yards per reception as a senior, Thornton is raw and has to prove that he can win quickly on comeback routes and get inside on slants with quickness off the line.
6 (210). OT Branson Taylor, Pittsburgh
6 (212). K Andres Borregales, Miami
Borregales departs the Miami Hurricanes as the program’s all-time scoring leader. His brother, Jose, was an All-American for the Hurricanes in 2020.
Borregales was 18-of-19 throughout the 2024 campaign for a career-high 94.7% conversion rate. In four seasons at Miami, Borregales was 70% on 10 career (7-of-10) attempts from 50 yards or further. The Ravens had scouts present to watch him perform at the East-West Shrine Bowl.
