Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink took a trip down memory lane to reminisce about her interaction with actor and comedian Kevin Hart.
Brink, 23, said during a recent episode of “Straight to Cam” with co-host Sydel Curry-Lee, the sister of NBA All-Star Steph Curry, and Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., that she ran into Hart at a concert but didn’t see him because of how short he is.
According to a “60 Minutes” interview with Hart, he claimed he is 5-foot-5 with shoes on.
‘I Looked Down and it Was Kevin’
“So I was at the Kendrick [Lamar]-SZA concert a while ago and I was walking out of our section,” Brink said. “I had a good time. I had some drinks and sunglasses on. I had to wake up early the next day, so I was walking at some pace, but suddenly I felt a jab in my ribs.
“And I looked down and it was Kevin.”
Brink claimed that Hart attempted to speak to her, but she didn’t see him, prompting him to hit her midsection lightly. “You didn’t see me, and I was like sorry, Kev,” she joked.
“Sorry, didn’t see you down there, bud. … He had a strong little punch.”
Brink’s comments on Hart came after he had listened to Jaquez explain that he shaved most of his facial hair last summer, but Hart still made fun of him on ESPN.
Brink Returned to the Court
Brink made her much-anticipated return to the Sparks after being sidelined for the first half of this season with a torn ACL. She sustained the injury during a game against the Connecticut Sun on June 18, 2024.
Brink received 14 minutes of playing time during Tuesday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces. She ended her first outing of the season with five points, three rebounds, one steal and a block.
In Friday’s game against the Seattle Storm, Brink recorded seven points, four rebounds, two steals and three blocks in 12 minutes of action. Los Angeles defeated its opponent 108-106 in double overtime.
The Sparks’ next game is against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday in the Crypto.com Arena. The game begins at 10 p.m. ET and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
