Former Tennessee pitcher Garrett Crochet started for the Red Sox. He pitched seven innings and recorded 10 strikeouts. Crochet totaled 103 pitches, including 67 strikes, against 25 batters. He allowed three hits, three walks and zero runs.
Former Vol Christian Moore started at second base for the Angels. He went 2-for-4 and hit two home runs, one tying and one walk-off, to produce all of Los Angeles’ runs in the contest.
Moore struck out two times against Crochet. He totaled three RBIs, two runs and was part of one double play defensively.
Moore was selected by the Angels in the first round (No. 8 overall) of the 2024 MLB draft. He played at Tennessee from 2022-24.
Crochet was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft (No. 11 overall) after playing for the Vols from 2018-20.
