Tennessee baseball received a graduate transfer commitment Thursday. Right-handed pitcher Clay Edmondson announced his commitment to the Vols after playing at UNC Asheville.
“I am very excited to announce that I have officially committed to University of Tennessee for my last year of college baseball,” Edmondson said. “I just want to say thank you to my family for supporting me through this decision as well as my teammates and coaches at UNCA for giving me a wonderful three years and will forever be a Bulldog! I will forever cherish the memories made and friendships made over the years!”
Edmondson (10-5) played for the Bulldogs from 2023-25. He appeared in 25 games, including 24 starts. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound pitcher recorded a 4.26 ERA and 134 strikeouts.
In 2025, Edmondson started in every contest he appeared in (10), compiling a 5-1 record. He also totaled 65 strikes, a 2.01 ERA and a .913 fielding percentage.
Tennessee defeated UNC Asheville, 29-4 in seven innings, on Feb. 18 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Edmondson did not play in the contest.
