National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday conveyed to his counterparts in several key countries that while India does not seek an escalation with Pakistan, it is fully prepared to respond firmly Islamanad escalates tensions, according to officials in the know of the conversations. Doval briefed the NSAs of the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Japan and other nations about India’s recent precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir under Operation Sindoor.
“NSA briefed his counterparts on actions taken and method of execution, which was measured, non-escalatory and restrained. He emphasised that India had no intent to escalate but was well prepared to retaliate resolutely should Pakistan decide to escalate,” an official familiar with the development said.
The discussions were held shortly after India targeted nine terror-linked sites belonging to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in a swift and coordinated military operation.

Doval spoke to US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK’s Jonathan Powell, Saudi Arabia’s Musaid Al Aiban, UAE’s H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon, and Japan’s Masataka Okano, according to officials.
“Contact was also established with Russian NSA Sergei Shoigu, Member of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC Wang Yi and Diplomatic Adviser to French President Emmanuel Bonne,” the official added. Doval is expected to maintain further communication with his global counterparts over the coming days.
