There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Caitlin Clark’s status ahead of the Indiana Fever’s biggest game of the season. On Tuesday, the Fever will battle the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship.

The main concern for Indiana, however, is that Clark is still nursing a lingering groin injury that kept her sidelined in the team’s last two games.

The good news is that Clark was able to practice on Sunday, but the Fever have officially listed the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year as questionable to play against the defending Commissioner’s Cup champions Lynx.

On Monday night, Indiana sent an exciting message on social media ahead of their winner-take-all clash.

“eyes on the prize. tomorrow we battle for the Commissioner’s Cup Championship at 8 p.m. against the Lynx,” the team posted on Instagram.

What drew the interest of more than a few fans is the fact that the Fever placed Clark—in complete game uniform—at the center of the graphic. This decision quickly sparked speculation about her status for Tuesday’s highly anticipated game.

“CC playing?!?!?!?” asked a fan on Instagram.

“So, this means CC is playing right?” another said.

“DOES THIS MEAN CC IS PLAYING,” a reaction read.

“I know Clark won’t be playing just announce it already 😑” demanded a user.

“Caitlin ain’t even playing..smdh,” said another.

“pls don’t let cc push herself 🥹” a comment read.

At this point, it appears Clark could be a game-time decision. Given the magnitude of the game, it’s highly likely that both Clark and the Fever will do everything to get the 23-year-old ready for the championship game.

That said, fans should not expect Indiana to give Clark the green light to play if they feel that there is a significant risk of re-injury.
