J.K. Dobbins has left the building.

After the veteran running back visited the Denver Broncos on Thursday, there is “no signing imminent” for Dobbins, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Dobbins “remains on Broncos radar,” but there’s no deal yet.

With the team still interested but Dobbins not signed, one can only speculate that negotiations over a potential contract reached an impasse. That could change with time.

Earlier this offseason, tight end Evan Engram visited the Broncos’ facility and left without a deal to take another visit with the Los Angeles Chargers. He later opted to sign with Denver. Broncos fans will hope to see a similar outcome with the Dobbins situation.

Speaking after practice on Thursday, coach Sean Payton said, “We’ll see where it goes” when asked about Dobbins visiting the team.

“We really like the group right now we’re working with, and it’s just another opportunity to possibly bring in another good football player to help us win,” Payton said.

Denver’s current running backs are RJ Harvey, Audric Estime, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie and Blake Watson. We’ll see if Dobbins and the team can reach an agreement down the road, but no deal is imminent.
