Jaeden Roberts was revealed to be injured, according to Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer. He did not participate in Saturday’s scrimmage.

“Kalen DeBoer said Jaeden Roberts is ‘dinged up,’” Bama Online’s Charlie Potter wrote on Twitter/X. “It’s not expected to be a long-term issue. Neither Roberts nor James Smith scrimmaged today.”

As DeBoer alluded to, Roberts is not expected to miss a lot of time for the Crimson Tide. Roberts, a redshirt senior, is expected ot perform at a high level.

Roberts actually earned second-team honors for preseason All-Americans. He started 12 games in 2024 and currently, isn’t expected to miss any time based on the small update from DeBoer.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Roberts was a four-star recruit out of Houston (Texas) North Shore, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He was the No. 35 overall prospect in the state, the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 219 overall prospect in the class.

In addition to Roberts, DeBoer recently discussed the offensive line movement earlier this week. He talked about Kam Dewberry and Geno VanDeMark working with the first team.

“I think you’ve got the competitive piece, and then you also have the, this is what we would do, and just guys just learning, cross-training different positions. Geno’s gotta play center, on top of guard. He’s a Swiss Army knife that way, and really important to us. I really like the way he’s developed coming back from a year ago. He clamps onto you, and he stays connected.

“That’s something I’ve seen really with his growth. He’s comfortable in all those spots, and playing aggressively, playing confidently.”

Time will tell if Roberts is able to return soon or closer to the start of the regular season. But as DeBoer spoke Saturday, he didn’t seem overly concerned with the injury.
