Where does the Jacksonville Jaguars’ trio of wide receivers land in Pro Football Focus’ fantasy football rankings ahead of the 2025 NFL season?
PFF’s Jonathon Macri recently ranked and put each wide receiver into tiers based on their fantasy football outlook for the upcoming year.
Tier 1, which was titled “The best of the best,” only included Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Puka Nacua. The Jaguars‘ Thomas found himself in Tier 2, the “True WR1 candidates” category, and ranked as the seventh-best wideout overall.
Thomas is coming off a dominant rookie season in which he ranked third in receiving yards. This season, under Liam Coen, Thomas’ role will expand. This doesn’t only refer to potential targets, but more so, how he’s utilized with more snaps coming from the slot and the opportunity to attack other levels of the field more regularly.
In Tier 4, titled “A testament to the position’s depth,” was Travis Hunter, who is ranked 22nd overall. The bulk of Hunter’s practice reps during offseason programs came at wide receiver. The reason for this, as GM James Gladstone explained, is that the team views cornerback as Hunter’s more natural position, so they wanted him to get more work at receiver early on.
Dyami Brown found himself in the final tier, which was titled “Deep-league options.” Out of 100 wide receivers, he is ranked 99th.
The Jaguars view Brown as an ascending player and in the early going, he has caught the attention of both Coen and Trevor Lawrence with his play. With his speed, he can stretch the field vertically or get the ball near the line of scrimmage and let his YAC ability take over.
Multiplicity is an element that Coen wants to be prevalent within the Jaguars’ offense. What this means at the receiver position is that each wideout can fill a variety of roles by lining up across the formation and attacking all levels of the field while doing so in different ways.
