Kim Mulkey is one of the top recruiters in women’s college basketball, and she’s making a push for LSU to land one of the best forwards in the transfer portal. According to several reports, former Wisconsin star Serah Williams is visiting LSU.

Williams is a veteran with 89 career starts under her belt. In Williams’ three years at Wisconsin, she averaged 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. She was a force on both sides of the court. She nearly scored 20 a game last season and led the Big Ten in blocks as a freshman and sophomore.

LSU is in need of a difference maker in the frontcourt, with Aneesah Morrow headed to the WNBA and Sa’Myah Smith transferring to Virginia. The Tigers will have a completely new look in the post next season.

LSU already signed two forwards with the addition of Notre Dame’s Kate Koval and East Carolina’s Amiya Joyner. If Williams commits, she becomes the headlining piece of LSU’s transfer class.

Mulkey’s system relies on LSU having a dominant force in the post. Think of the impact Angel Reese and Morrow made on the program.

Williams would be a similar difference maker.

With Flau’Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams returning, LSU’s backcourt is among the best in the SEC. If LSU can pair that tandem with a group of dynamic forwards, Mulkey’s team will be in a position to compete for a national championship.
