One person was taken into custody by the IS Sadan police and the South-East Zone of the Commissioner’s Task Force, while transporting 45 kilograms of dry ganja to Mangalhat in Hyderabad. Contraband worth ₹11.25 lakh was seized during a raid near Sadan X road.
The accused was identified as Janapala Harikrishna, a 28-year-old cab driver from Yadadri district. During his questioning, Harikrishna revealed that he had been lured into the illegal trade by his childhood friend Thunam Aravind, a peddler from Mahabubabad district.
To avoid detection, Harikrishna used an alternative route to the city. However, acting on intelligence, law enforcement intercepted his vehicle and arrested him. Efforts are still underway to arrest Thunam Aravind and other person.
