Man asks woman for water, snatches her gold chain in Hyderabad’s KPHB colony

Police booked a case against a man who snatched gold chain from a woman in KPHB Colony in Hyderabad on Wednesday (March 12, 2025).

A chain snatcher, who targeted a woman in KPHB under the pretext of asking for water, escaped with her gold chain on Wednesday (Match 12, 2025).

The incident was captured on the CCTV camera which shows a masked man with a water bottle in his hand approaching the victim, 50-year-old Anjali who had just finished drawing a ‘muggu’ outside her house. The videos of the incident have been making rounds across social media platforms.

The man was seen following her into her house in KPHB Phase 3 colony after asking for water. Once inside, he quickly snatched a one-tola gold chain from Ms. Anjali’s neck and fled the scene. Though the victim began to scream to scare him away, but he did not stop.

According to the police, at the time of the incident, Ms. Anjali’s husband had stepped out to purchase milk, which left her alone in the house. A case was booked and efforts are underway to trace the accused.
