Hyderabad:The Telangana government has retained N.V.S. Reddy as managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) for another year. The order, dated April 8, came into effect from April 1. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Reddy said his immediate priority is completing Phase 2 of the Metro Rail project. “My focus is on executing the expansion, as instructed by the Chief Minister, to ensure all parts of the city are connected,” he said.
Reddy, who took charge as the managing director in May 2007, has completed 18 years at the helm of the world’s first PPP metro rail project. Reflecting on his tenure, he shared, “Many challenges were deftly handled during the Metro construction. Last year, Stanford University published a case study on my leadership in the Hyderabad Metro project.” Hyderabad Metro is currently preparing for its Phase 2 expansion, along with the development of the airport corridor.
