The New York Giants open their three-game preseason slate against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Russell Wilson will start at quarterback for the Giants but ultimately give way to Jaxson Dart, who will make his NFL debut.
“I’m excited. This is just the start of a dream of mine, so I’m excited to take that next step, be out there, compete at the highest level,” Dart said this week. “My family’s going to be there, so I’m super excited to have them a part of this journey with me, and yeah, I think that’s really it. I’m just stoked for the opportunity.”
After an impressive summer, tackle-turned-guard Evan Neal will sit out the preseason opener due to injury. He will be joined by rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury.
Wilson to start
As noted above, long-time Giants beat writer Art Stapleton reports that veteran quarterback Russell Wilson will start for the Giants on Saturday, although it’s unclear how long he will play.
