The future Fighting Irish tight end gets compared to an ex-NFL star.
Notre Dame commit Preston Fryzel is already drawing comparisons to former Fighting Irish tight end Tyler Eifert.
Eifert, of course, played in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fryzel, who stands 6’4″ and weighs 220 pounds, had an average of 18.8 yards per catch at Toledo Central Catholic High School in 2024.
Analyst Tom Flemming has him as a potential four-star player, saying he’s as much or more of a wide receiver than a tight end.
Being compared to one of the best tight ends to come out of Notre Dame — a school dubbed “tight end university” — in recent years is a pretty good thing for Frenzel.
And a good thing for the Fighting Irish, if the comparison holds up.
