Notre Dame football has revealed several number changes ahead of the 2025 season.

The Fighting Irish open the regular season at Miami on Sunday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium (ABC). The Irish own an 18-8-1 mark in the all-time series against the Hurricanes, with the most recent meeting in 2017 (a 41-8 Miami win).

Here are the ND number changes:

Wide receiver Cam Williams: from No. 17 to No. 5Cornerback Christian Gray: from No. 29 to No. 6Safety Tae Johnson: from No. 16 to No. 9Quarterback / Special teams Tyler Buchner: from No. 26 to No. 10Wide receiver Jerome Bettis Jr.: from No. 83 to No. 15Wide receiver Xavier Southall: from No. 80 to No. 31Defensive end Bryce Young: from No. 30 to No. 95

The Irish finished the 2024 season 14-2, including riding a 14-game winning streak into the College Football Playoff national championship game. That success has helped fuel a very strong offseason on the recruiting trail.
