Olivia Dunne’s LSU career is officially over. LSU gymnastics came up short in the NCAA championship semifinals on Thursday night, marking the end of the road for the fifth-year senior.

Following the loss, Dunne took to social media to say goodbye to LSU.

“✌️ out gymnastics it’s bean real… and of course forever LSU! 💜,” Dunne wrote.

Dunne, a New Jersey native, arrived at LSU in 2021. Dunne rose to prominence both as a gymnast and social media star. Dunne’s combined social media following surpasses 13 million, and On3 listed Dunne’s NIL valuation above $4 million.

Dunne made an impact in her freshman campaign, standing out on bars. As a sophomore, she was a contributor in both the floor and bar events.

As Dunne progressed into the second half of her career, she began to deal with injuries and was limited in 2023.

In 2024, Dunne was a member of LSU’s national championship-winning squad and averaged a 9.857 on the floor.

Dunne has also garnered attention for her relationship with former LSU star Paul Skenes.

College athletics looks different than when Dunne first arrived at LSU. The social media star has been at the forefront of the NIL movement, often using her platform to push for fair athlete compensation. LSU gymnastics was already a big deal before Dunne arrived, often packing the PMAC. Dunne’s presence only added to LSU’s profile, especially on social media.
