Scottie Scheffler calls for more consistent driver testing on tour
Scottie Scheffler’s driver failed and now he’s calling for stricter, more consistent checks across the field.
PGA TOUR
There’s a strong contingent of PGA Tour money leaders in the field for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge May 22-25 at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
The group is led by No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship last week for his third major title. He also surpassed $10 million in earnings for the season but still trails Rory McIlroy by more than $3.8 million, which means another victory this week and the $1,710,000 first-place check won’t be enough to climb to No. 1.
Half of the top 30 money leaders are in the field this week. There are three in the top 10, Scheffler, No. 7 Andrew Novak and No. 10 J.J. Spaun.
Novak, with $5,558,105, could only climb as high as fifth with a victory.
