Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday slammed the BJP for trying to stall the processes of BC Reservation Bill.
Addressing a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, he sought know as why a few people from Gujarat were agitated when the Congress government in Telangana wanted to ensure reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in the State.
He said the Congress government would ensure 42 per cent reservations to BCs at any cost and added that as many as 100 MPs and members of I.N.D.I.A bloc parties extended their support for the Congress move. He said the Congress would dethrone the Central government if the BJP-led NDA government fails to approve the Bill.
If Telangana’s BC reservation Bills don’t get approval, then the BJP will be proven anti-OBC, said Revanth Reddy, who led a massive dharna in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Wednesday, demanding the President’s consent for the Bills passed by the State Assembly that seek 42 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BC) in local body elections as well as in the education and employment sectors.
He said that if the Bills don’t get the approval, it will prove that the BJP was against the backward class communities.
