If you don’t have a great quarterback, you better have a great everything else. Or at least you had better be great at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the football. This is where the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves with quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly uninterested in signing with Pittsburgh and no free-agent options left.
So, for this new seven-round mock draft, we decided to use the 2025 NFL draft as an opportunity to add two players for each side of the line of scrimmage, along with a feature back, thanks to a trade back to pick No. 33.
Second round – DT Tyleik Williams – Ohio State
Williams is a huge interior lineman with excellent technique and overwhelming power.
Third round – RB Dylan Sampson – Tennessee
One of the few backs in this draft with the skill set to come in and dominate early in their career.
Third round – OL Jonah Savaiinaea – Arizona
We love Savaiinaea to kick inside at guard and replace Isaace Seumalo with a powerful frame and patience.
Fourth round – QB Dillon Gabriel – Oregon
Gabriel might never be a full-time NFL starter but there’s no risk in rolling the dice on his mobility and arm strength on the third day of the draft.
Fifth round – S R.J. Mickens – Clemson
A Jack-of-all-trades with an impressive NFL pedigree, Mickens is an impressive leader and incredibly smart secondary player.
Sixth round – OT Jalen Travis – Iowa State
Travis is one of the most underrated tackles in this draft but he is a prototypical Steelers strongside tackle and just needs some NFL coaching to improve his consistency.
Seventh round – DE Jared Harrison-Hunte – SMU
Harrison-Hunte displays impressive length, has the frame to hold up as a 3-4 defensive end and you have to love a 4.86-second 40 at more than 290 pounds.
