The NCAA transfer portal spring window for football remains open through Friday.
Tennessee redshirt senior defensive back Jakobe Thomas will enter the transfer portal.
“Tennessee safety Jakobe Thomas is entering the NCAA transfer portal, per Eugene T. Lee of 3 Strand Sports,” Pete Thamel of ESPN announced. “Thomas played last season at Tennessee and has one year of eligibility remaining. He started his career at Middle Tennessee State.”
The 6-foot-2, 202-pound defensive back appeared in 13 games for the Vols in his only season at Tennessee. He totaled 22 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, two pass deflections and fumble recovery.
Thomas played at Middle Tennessee State from 2021-23, appearing in 24 contests. He recorded 108 tackles, four tackles for a loss, four interceptions, one touchdown, 12 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one block and six punt return yards for the Blue Raiders.
Thomas went to Middle Tennessee State from Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
