Indianapolis Colts’ left tackle Bernhard Raimann was named the team’s “most promising building block” entering the 2025 NFL season.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton recently selected each team’s best building block moving forward, and in part, the selection of Raimann for the Colts was due to the difficulty in finding high-quality left tackles.

“Still a bit green as an offensive lineman who didn’t grow up playing football, Raimann has a lot of room for growth,” wrote Moton. “That said, he has shown significant development over the last three years, particularly as a pass-blocker.”

Raimann had a breakout year in 2023 and then took another step forward in 2024. Out of 83 eligible tackles last season, Raimann ranked 24th in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency.

In the run game, Raimann ranked 12th in run-blocking grade, with Jonathan Taylor averaging almost 5.0 yards per carry when running between Raimann and Quenton Nelson.

“The progress that Berny has made from year one to now, it’s been pretty incredible,” GM Chris Ballard said at the NFL Combine.

Raimann certainly fits the mold of what an NFL building block should be for a team. He’s a young and still ascending player who has also proven himself, not to mention that he plays one of the game’s most important positions.

Raimann is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is extension eligible at any time–a move one would anticipate the Colts making sometime between now and prior to free agency opening next March.
