Veteran defensive back Deon Bush was injured in the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the NFL preseason.

Bush, who was a member of Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVII and LVIII championship rosters, is among the most experienced members of the Chiefs’ defensive backfield and has been making strides at the team’s training camp.

The exact nature of Bush’s injury was initially unclear, but a quick update from Kansas City’s social media team confirmed that the issue involved the defender’s Achilles tendon.

Take a look at the Chiefs’ official update, which was posted to Twitter during the game:

With Bush sidelined, Kansas City’s coaching staff will rely on Kevin Knowles, Azizi Hearn, and Ajani Carter to play more snaps as defensive backs in the second half of Saturday’s game.
