Auburn is ready to host an NCAA Regional for the third time in four seasons.
Auburn baseball has locked in a regional host seed for the third time in four seasons, and has now learned its opponents for the 2025 Auburn Regional that will begin this weekend at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama.
The Tigers will welcome NC State, Stetson, and Central Connecticut to Plainsman Park for this weekend’s Auburn Regional. Stetson and Central Connecticut enter the NCAA Tournament by winning their respective conference tournaments while NC State finished fourth in the ACC with a 33-19 overall record, and a 17-11 record against conference foes.
Auburn grabbed the No. 4 overall seed in this year’s tournament, which puts them in position to host a super regional should they handle business this weekend on the Plains. The Tigers join fellow SEC teams Vanderbilt, Texas, and Arkansas by grabbing a top-four seed, with LSU and Georgia also grabbing a top-eight seed from the conference.
Auburn baseball returns to the regional host seat after taking a giant step forward in 2025. After missing postseason play in 2024 with a 27-26 overall record and an 8-22 mark in SEC play, Auburn finished the 2025 season 20-games over .500 (38-18), and winning 56% of its games against SEC competition at 17-13. The Tigers bumped its overall team batting average 26 points from .276 in 2024 to .302 this season, while also improving its totals in home runs, runs scored, and strikeouts.
The biggest improvement came in pitching, where Auburn made giant strides in every major category. Auburn lowered its ERA from 5.94 in 2024 to 4.76 in 2025. Auburn also struck out 59 more batters this season while issuing 29 fewer walks. Auburn’s opponents’ batting average dropped 40 points from .286 to .246.
