Luka Doncic was his usual prodigious self in the first two games of the first-round playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves with a combined 68 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists. But he didn’t exactly play up to his standards in the Lakers’ Game 3 loss on Friday.

He shot just 6-of-16 from the field and only attempted four free throws, which limited him to 17 points. Partly as a result, the Lakers now trail the series two games to one and face a pressure-packed Game 4 on Sunday afternoon.

According to head coach JJ Redick, Doncic wasn’t feeling well on Friday and was vomiting throughout the afternoon. The good news is that Doncic isn’t listed on the team’s injury report for Game 4.

The Lakers have had plenty of problems on the offensive end of the court so far in this series, including a lack of balance. In each game, they have had one of their starters put forth an outstanding performance, only to get subpar outings from just about everyone else. That needs to change right away if they are to come back and win this series.
