Visakhapatnam: Agriculture minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu criticised the previous YSRC government for allegedly neglecting the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). He claimed that the fund, which is intended to assist individuals facing financial difficulties due to medical emergencies, has not reached those in need.
However, the minister acknowledged that the current government has allocated about ₹400 crore across the state under the CMRF.
During an event at his Nimmada office on Saturday, the minister distributed cheques totaling ₹23,44,463 to 18 beneficiaries. He said, to date, 81 individuals have received a total of ₹1.3 crore in aid from the fund. “The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is meant to serve as a lifeline for families burdened by high medical costs. It must be used effectively to help those in need,” he said. Narasannapet MLA Baggu Ramanamurthy and other local leaders were also present at the event.
