Several hundred Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists participated in a march taken out in Yadgir on Sunday to mark the centenary celebration of its establishment.
The march of activists wearing Ganavesh (RSS uniform) started from the City Municipal Council office and ended at Wanakeri Layout, passing through Hattikuni Cross, Gandhi Circle, Veerashaiva Kalyan Mantap and Kanaka Circle.
The main roads of the city were decked with saffron flags and welcome hoardings with portraits of K.B. Hedgewar, founder of the organisation, and M.S. Golwalkar, second sarsangchalak.
The activists from different age groups walked on the main roads, holding sticks in their left hand. They shouted slogans favouring Mother India, while the gathered people alongside the road showered flowers on them.
The Police Department under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar provided adequate security during the march. Vehicles were diverted on alternative stretches during the event.
