Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is expected to inaugurate the newly constructed integrated bus terminal at Solar during his visit to Erode district on November 27.

The ₹74.90-crore facility, spread over 19.9 acres, is nearing completion, with painting, tile-laying, and electrical works progressing at a brisk pace. The terminal has a built-up area of 12,247 sq. m and will feature 63 bus bays, 134 shops, parking for 883 two-wheelers, and an auto stand accommodating 100 vehicles.

Passenger amenities include reservation counters, toilets, hotels, and a cloakroom. The first floor will house two restaurants, separate dormitories for men and women, and a modern commercial hall. Work is expected to be completed by the second week of November, making the facility ready for inauguration. Once opened, the terminal will handle buses bound for southern districts, easing congestion at Erode city’s central bus stand.

On Thursday (October 23, 2025), officials from the Erode Corporation and the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) jointly inspected the premises, during which a few buses were operated on a trial basis. Officials reviewed bus movement, internal traffic flow, and operational aspects to ensure smooth functioning.

According to sources, the Chief Minister will participate in a government function at Gobichettipalayam on November 27, where he will inaugurate completed projects, lay foundation stones for new ones, and distribute welfare assistance to beneficiaries. Mr. Stalin is expected to inaugurate the Solar terminal through video conferencing from the event venue, the sources added.
