Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accusing him of ‘’running a spurious liquor racket, misleading the public with blatant lies, and attempting to hijack credit for the State’s data centre project’’.

Addressing a press conference at the party office at Tadepalli near here on Thursday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister and his associates were operating a large-scale liquor syndicate involving the manufacture, supply, and sale of fake liquor across the State. “One in every four liquor bottles sold in Andhra Pradesh is counterfeit, and at every stage, from production to sale, TDP members are involved,” he alleged.

The YSRCP chief demanded a Central agency probe into the liquor scam, questioning how videos and chat leaks related to the case had surfaced. “How did Janardhan Rao’s video come out, and from where are these chat leaks emerging? Mr. Naidu must answer instead of diverting attention with false narratives,” he said.

While YSRCP leaders are being unfairly targeted, ruling party members involved in the racket continue to go scot-free. “The truth only surfaces when disputes arise over sharing the spoils,” he remarked.

Referring to the Google data centre project, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the Chief Minister of habitually claiming credit for others’ work. “He is trying to claim the data centre project just as he falsely took credit for Hyderabad’s Cyber Towers. Everyone knows that it was the vision of N. Janardhan Reddy that laid Hyderabad’s IT foundation, and that the city’s real growth happened during Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure,” he said.

Clarifying details about the Adani-Google Data Centre project, he said, “Adani is investing ₹87,000 crore to build the project, after which Google will take over. The seeds were sown when the YSRCP was in power. Chandrababu’s attempt to claim this as his achievement is nothing but ‘credit chori’.”
