Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy received notices under Section 35 (3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) from the police at S.V. University Campus Police Station in Tirupati on Thursday.

Based on the complaint by TTD Trust Board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, a case was filed against former TTD Chairman under Sections 353 (circulating statements to cause public mischief) and 299 (maliciously outraging the religious feelings) of the BNS.

Later in a press meet at YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district office in Padmavathipuram, Mr. Karunakar Reddy claimed that the coalition government was taking revenge by filing fake cases against him for revealing about the deaths of more than 100 cows at the TTD Goshala.

He further made several allegations on present TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu. Displaying a “confidential letter” to the Executive Officer to release funds for few under-construction projects of the TTD, he questioned how the Chairman could seek money for the contractors.

Speaking about the alleged aides of YSRCP in the TTD, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said, “I am close to around 4,700 employees of TTD. If Mr. Naidu wants to suspend the staff supporting us, he must remove all the permanent workers.”
