Grama Sabha meetings to be held in Virudhunagar on November 1 to mark Local Bodies Day

Grama Sabha meetings will be held in all the 450 village panchayats in Virudhunagar district on November 1, to mark the Local Bodies Day.

In a statement, Virudhunagar Collector N. O. Sukhaputra said that the grama sabha meetings would discuss the expenses of general fund (between April 1 and October 31), audit report of the panchayat, efforts to install rain water harvesting structures in rural areas and ways to prevent dengue fever.

Besides, people would also discuss precautionary measures to be taken during northeast monsoon and about the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme among others.
