A district-level golden jubilee celebration will be held on Monday, October 27, at 2 p.m. at the B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in Chamarajanagar to mark 50 years of the establishment of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).
At a recent preparatory meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag, officials were instructed to ensure all necessary arrangements, including stage setup, seating, uninterrupted power supply, deployment of fire and health personnel, and adequate security measures at the venue.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed officials to make suitable traffic regulation, bandobust, and crowd management arrangements in view of the expected large turnout.
As part of the celebrations, senior pourakarmikas serving in local bodies will be felicitated. A drawing competition on environmental conservation for schoolchildren will be organised, with prizes and certificates to be presented to the winners. Individuals and organisations contributing to environmental protection will also be felicitated on the occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner T. Javare Gowda on Thursday reviewed the ongoing preparations on Thursday. Superintendent of Police B.T. Kavitha, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sneha Raju, District Environmental Officer Savitha, District Health Officer S. Chidambara, and other officials were present.
