Thoothukudi district police have issued traffic diversions and parking facility details ahead of Kanda Sashti festival in Tiruchdendur.
Since high crowds are anticipated on October 26 (Sunday) and October 27 (Monday), the day of Soorasamharam, the district police have made 17 temporary vehicle parking areas to ensure hazard-free parking facility for the devotees.
In case of heavy rainfall, an emergency parking area has also been arranged near St. Joseph School on the Veerapandiyapattinam-Kayalpattinam road.
All government buses from Thoothukudi through Arumuganeri will drop the devotees at a temporary bus stand at ITI campus in Thoothukudi-Tiruchdenur road. For the convenience of the devotees circular buses will operate from temporary bus stands to areas near the temple.
The temporary bus stand for buses from Tirunelveli through Kurumbur route has been arranged opposite to Shabi Traders. Buses from Nagercoil, Thisayanvilai, Sathankulam, Kanniyakumari will drop the devotees at a temporary bus stand located west of FCI godown.
Similarly for private vehicles, parking facilities have been arranged at JJ Nagar, Adhithanar cricket ground, Anbu Nagar, Adhithanar Colony, Senthilkumaran School campus and others.
