Officials of the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch on Wednesday busted two drug peddling rackets in separate cases. They arrested two foreign nationals allegedly peddling drugs and recovered narcotic substances worth ₹5.5 crore from them.
Based on a tip-off , a team of officials raided a place in Hebbagodi and arrested two foreign nationals allegedly red-handed peddling drugs.
Upon inquiry, the duo allegedly confessed that they came to Bengaluru on business visa to peddle drugs. Based on their confession, the police seized 1.4 kg of MDMA crystals and cash ₹42,800 from them. The accused have been booked under NDPS Act and further investigations are on to track down their source and network .
Other incident
In another case, the CCB officials based on a tip-off from the Customs Department, conducted checks at the foreign post office situated in Chamarajapete and recovered three kilos of hydro ganja worth ₹3 crore. The drugs were concealed in biscuit and chocolate packets sourced from Thailand, according to officials.
A case has been registered under NDPS Act at K.G. Nagar police station limits and further investigations are on to trace the people who were supposed to receive the drug parcel.
