CM to inaugurate Mangaluru India International Challenge 2025


Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the first-ever International level badminton tournaments, Mangaluru India International Challenge 2025, to be held in Mangaluru on October 27.

Chairing a preparation meeting in this regard, Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan said the inauguration would be done at the Urva Indoor Stadium. He told officials concerned to make all necessary arrangements as the district was hosting the International event for the first time.

He said players from different countries would participate in the event and necessary facilities, including boarding and lodging, should be made for them. All technical arrangements should be in place inside the stadium, he said, adding necessary facilities should be created for players and umpires as well. Parking arrangements for vehicles would be made at the Urva Market Ground. The road from Lady Hill to Urba Market leading to the stadium should be beautified, he said adding proper waste disposal arrangements should be in place.

Arrangements should also be made to portray the rich cultural heritage and tourism attractions of the district at the event even as there should be a full-fledged information centre.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) H.N. Mithun, Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. managing director Santhosh Kumar, Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Ravi Chandra Naik, District Badminton Association president Santosh Kumar Shetty, and others were present.
