CMRL honours five workers who helped a woman recover her jewellery

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) honoured five construction workers who helped a woman recover her gold earrings.

Recently, when a woman came out of a restaurant near Poonamallee Bus Terminus she inadvertently dropped one of her gold earrings into rainwater that had stagnated on the road.

Witnessing her desperately looking for the jewellery, the workers—Barikul SK, Kalam SK, Sumon SK, Bariyul SK and Amir—who were working for the phase II project rushed to help.

“Using buckets and mugs, they drained the stagnant water and searched diligently until they recovered the earring, and their responsible conduct was widely appreciated by the public,” according to a press release.

CMRL gave a cash award of ₹2,000 and a certificate of appreciation to recognise their gesture.
