Foundation stone laid for additional building on district police office premises

Foundation was laid for constructing an additional building on the district police office premises at Panneerselvam Park at a total cost of ₹10.80 crore, on Friday.

Corporation Commissioner Arpit Jain, Superintendent of Police A. Sujatha, District Revenue Officer S. Santha Kumar, Erode Revenue Divisional Officer N. Sindhuja and senior police officials were present. The office, located along Gandhiji Road at Panneerselvam Park, has been facing space constraints that have affected the functioning of the department. The police had therefore submitted a proposal to the government seeking approval for an additional building. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the construction of an additional building.

The Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Limited, Coimbatore Division, is executing the work with a Chennai-based contractor, Johnsun Engineering Contractors, being given the work order. Of the total 31,921 sq. ft. land area, the building would come up on 28,455 sq. ft. It includes a ground floor with parking area and portico and three floors.
