Deputy Commissioner B. Fouzia Taranum, who also serves as the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer for the North-East Teachers’ Constituency of the Karnataka Legislative Council, has announced that a special voter registration drive will be conducted across Kalaburagi district on October 27 and 30, and November 3.
The initiative forms part of the ongoing electoral roll revision for the constituency, with November 6 set as the last date for eligible teachers to enrol their names in the voters’ list. The revision is being carried out with November 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
“The special drive is aimed at ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll,” Ms. Taranum said, urging all teachers in the constituency to take advantage of the campaign and register their names during the scheduled dates.
She emphasised that the preparation of an error-free and transparent voters’ list is crucial for the smooth and fair conduct of elections. “A flawless electoral roll is the foundation of a healthy democracy. I request all eligible teachers residing in the district to come forward to register and strengthen the democratic process,” she added..
