A man attacked his wife in broad day light in Sindagi town in Vijayapura district on Friday.
The husband, Yamanappa, attacked his wife, Anasuya, 50, with a machete, injuring her head, neck, and hands. The accused threatened the locals who came to help the victim who collapsed on the road.
A passerby, in a brave move, stopped Yamanappa who tried to flee the scene following the attack.
The victim has been admitted to the hospital.
The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered, the police said.
