Telangana’s Gadwal District Collector B.M. Santosh on Friday (October 24, 2025) announced control room numbers for families of victims of the accident in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, in which a private bus went up in flames killing several people.

There were a total of 41 passengers in the bus, besides driver and cleaner, traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. Of the passengers, 13 were from Telangana, 12 from Andhra Pradesh and the remaining from other States, said Mr. Santosh citing initial information. According to a communication from the Telangana Government at 9.45 a.m., 23 passengers escaped. Bodies of 11 passengers were found.
Medical teams recovered dead bodies and sent them to Government Hospital in Kurnool for postmortem examination. The bodies would be handed over to the families based on the postmortem report, he said. Injured are undergoing treatment at the Government health facility, and few private hospitals too.
Besides Gadwal Police and Administration’s complete support to Kurnool district administration, control rooms and helpdesk numbers in Gadwal were announced to provide information to families of the victims.
The Collector and the district Superintendent of Police T. Srinivasa Rao reached the site of the accident. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed the officials to be available at the location and extend full support to the victims’ families. Instructions were also issued to expedite identification of the deceased and medical assistance for the injured.
