Nature enthusiast E. Santosh Babu rescued a snake that strayed into the Kothagudem Collector’s camp office on Friday.
Responding to a phone call from the staff at the camp office, Mr. Santosh rushed to the spot and rescued the snake before releasing it into its natural habitat, sources said.
Collector Jitesh V. Patil appreciated the snake rescuer and his efforts to spread awareness on snake conservation.
Santosh is the founder of the “Pranadhara Charitable Trust” which is spearheading snake rescue and conservation efforts in the coal belt and elsewhere in the erstwhile composite Khammam district.
